Group Exercise: Class Descriptions Summer 2008

*Aqua Blast:

Think water aerobics is for your grandmother? THINK AGAIN! Let the resistance of the water give you a great workout that is sure to leave you feeling refreshed and energized. Water dumbbells and force gloves are used to enhance this workout and get you sweating! (No swimming experience required. Head is never submerged; t-shirts and gym shorts may be worn over suit. Class cancelled when raining). This class is unavailable right now, but look for it on the upcoming Fall 2008 schedule!!

Body Sculpt:

Looking for a weight-training class? How about conditioning the body from head to toe? This class focuses on toning up that figure with the most current fitness equipment around!

*Circuit Blast!

Jump from station to station for an intense calorie burning and strength training workout all in one! With our top of the line fitness equipment like the Gravity Training System, BOSU balls, Jump Rope, Gliders, and more, we guarantee you leave sweating, satisfied, and one step closer to your fitness goals!!

Cardio Step:

Looking for a pick-me-up? This class will excite you with fun cardio, great music, and an enthusiastic step challenge! Be prepared to burn calories, and sweat while you step it up!

Hip-Hop:

You Think You Can Hip Hop? Let lose and join this jammed packed hour of the funkiest moves, popular hip hop jams, and crazy choreography! Challenge your body to move in ways it’s never moved before and leave with a great cardiovascular workout.

Kickbox-N-Core:

This high-energy class uses boxing moves to condition the heart and tone the muscles. Increases stamina, flexibility, coordination, and energy while incorporating martial arts and a cardiovascular workout for all fitness levels! Of course it isn’t over until you finish your sweat session with a killer core workout!

Killer Abs:

Be ready to work and tone up that 6-pack with this power-packed 30 minute core class! Focus on strengthening the abdominals and the lower back while utilizing resistance equipment such as stability balls, medicine balls, The Bosu and more!

Power Pilates:

The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises developed over ninety years ago by Joseph Pilates. It strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, unites body and mind, and creates a more streamline shape. By adding explosive, fast-moving techniques, this class will leave you with a nice sweat and a good core workout!

*Power Sculpt:

A body sculpting class with a little “spice” of cardio!

*Latin Grooves:

Are you looking for EXCITEMENT?! Come join the party and groove your life away to various Latin dance styles such as the Merengue, Salsa, and the Mambo!! (no dance experience required)

Spin:

We have the original indoor cycling program! SPINNING is more than a workout! It’s a philosophy! Whether you ride to get stronger, nurture your body and spirit, sweat out the events of the day or reinvent yourself, Spinning is YOUR ride! Yoga:

This class focuses on a branch of yoga called Hatha, which focuses on good mental and physical well-being. Hatha yoga incorporates postures, breathing, and relaxation, while increasing flexibility and body awareness. Some classes may incorporate Iyengar, as well as YogaFit styles of posing.

*Stress Reduction Yoga:

Yoga for Stress Reduction is designed to reduce the effects of stress on the body, breath and mind. Introduces a new Meditative technique including the process of observation, opening the entire being to new possibilities of freedom from the bonds of stress and active participation in his/her own health and well being.

Zumba:

Zumba combines high-energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participants to dance away their worries. This salsa-based aerobics class is fun and easy to do. No dance experience required! Add some spice and flare to your workout and shake your cha-cha!
