About the Flight Deck

The Flight Deck is located on the 1st Floor at the North Entrance of the Don Taft University Center. The Flight Deck includes a serving bar with a beer and wine license, several televisions with DirecTV®, two pool tables, various magazines, board and video games, and seating areas. The Flight Deck is a popular place on campus for students to meet, greet, and grab a snack.

The Flight Deck is the host to a variety of weekly activities, student events, and happy hours. Included is the Flight Deck Friday's, which features drink specials, free food, as well as live music.

The Flight Deck is always the best place on campus to grab a drink with your friends after class!

The History

"The Flight Deck" name originates from the fact that the land now occupied by NSU used to be the site of a Navy air base during World War II where aircrafts used to practice taking off and landing on the short "Flight Deck" of US Naval carriers. It is also hard to miss the fact that NSU is directly under the flight path for Fort Lauderdale International Airport.

NFL Sunday Ticket

Come out and cheer on your favorite team during the NFL season every Sunday starting at 1 p.m., the Flight Deck has a subscription to the NFL Sunday Ticket showcasing all of this week’s hottest games, as well as drink specials and snacks.

Monday Night Football

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL? Join the Flight Deck for Monday Night Football, every Monday during NFL regular season at 8:30 p.m. Get together with some friends, grab a table, chow down on some food, and watch your favorite teams duke it out.

Flight Deck Fridays

Look no further than the Flight Deck to start off your weekend! Come out for live music, free food and drinks specials every third Friday of the month starting at 5:00 p.m. Make the Flight Deck your happy hour tradition! Please contact us to host a Flight Deck Friday for your organization or department.
